BONUS! Response to Democratic Candidates

I have to disagree centrism didn't hurt Hillary. Her centrism was an enormous factor in why so many independents got pissed and did protest votes or stayed home in 2016.

As fascinating as the prez conversation is, save some energy for down-ticket races. Flip the Senate, and I’d be fairly comfortable with any of the Dem prez front-runners. Instead of waiting to see what policies they roll out, ask THEM about the policies most important to you AND your community. Statewide policies - like repro rights - are still the ones that (in general) most hit us where we live. Technology now allows us to do texting/calling on behalf of candidates running anywhere. Happy with your own state/fed reps? Great. Pick a candidate(s) in a “foreign” race that could use your help/$$.

I'd have to say my dream ticket would be Sanders/Warren, two powerhouse progressives would really energize the base and mobilize a lot of people to come out and vote. If not that ticket than either Sanders/Harris or Warren/Booker??, with either one of two at the top of the ticket I still think people would come out to vote and we'd might actually see populist Democrats getting elected in 2020. That in my opinion is what was (and is) killing the Democrats.

Really appreciate these two shows. Two nits to pick though- in the first part, Cecil asked why he should trust Bernie's doctors when he doesn't trust Trump's. Come on man- Trump is pathological liar. Bernie has a very long track record of being an honest actor. Second, in regards to Booker- on the second show you said it's his job to represent his state in response to him backing the big pharma companies that have HQs here. His job should really be to represent the voters of the state, not the corporations. I hope you do more of these candidate roundups. I'd also suggest getting Kyle Kulinski from the Secular Talk youtube channel on for the topic. He covers a lot of similar material, he's just not as funny.

Warren/ Booker would be my dream ticket. I love watching Warren rip apart mealy-mouthed old white guys. She is a force of nature, sharp, and educated. Her policies make sense and appear to be attainable. Booker could be a great backup and may be a great influence on her, as well as help her snag the POC with his open and passionate rhetoric.

My dream ticket is Warren/Buttigieg, I agree with your commenter that said we need a Get Fired Up Guy to run alongside a badass Get Shit Done Lady. Warren will make an amazing president, and every time Buttigieg talks to crowds he makes friends.

So, maybe just a little clarification on why I still have Beto in my short list. I’m a Texan that followed his campaign and feel I have a bit of a hand on some policy stances he has. And I’ll have to be honest here: I’ve seen him speak in person twice, I’m quite certain that because of this and never seeing any other candidate has me pulled on an emotional level.
