Writing Roller-Coaster

It's Ed Power. I haven't updated personally for awhile because I had several months of training for my day job, but I've been in my new position now for a while, and should have more time now.
One of the things I did recently was apply for Nickelodeon's Writing Program with my wife (also a writer):

We submitted a 'Bob's Burgers' script. It's a long shot, but what isn't?
I've also written a short for Nick's short program:

Which I also hope to pitch to Frederator Studios (my first pitch to them was rejected):

The new short is based on idea for a character I've had since I was 4 years old. :D
Either way, now that I'm safe from being laid off at my job that actually pays the bills, I want to get back to getting my writing out there, and I want to keep you updated on that.
One of my goals here originally was to show how hard it is to submit your stuff. It's not easy, and there is a lot of rejection, but I think it's necessary if you are a creative person who wants to make a living off your art.
I got lucky with 'My Cage'. It was the first thing I'd ever submitted and it got accepted by King Features, but it's been and roller-coaster since then! Still, if you have hopes of being a professional artist/writer/etc., you need to put your stuff out there, and I'm hoping seeing me out there getting rejected will help others put their stuff out there too.
That's it for now. More next week!
Thanks for the support! We've always had the best fans.
-Ed
PS: The semi-finalist for the Nick Writing Program is July 31st, and the Nick Short entry has to be in by April 15th, so the countdowns begin!

This won't affect future episodes of My Cage with most of the work done by M.J. (I am still anxious for the birth of Norm and Bridget's child sometime post My Cage Patreon support strip 0050 or so) and the planned Cute Force webcomic (Why not fund it on Kickstarter like you did for Santa VS. Dracula?).
