Hello, my shiny stars! ๐ How are you doing today?
I know I'm a bit late here, but I've been quite busy lately and expect to have an even crazier December as well tbh sooo... ๐ซ But I want to stay consistent with my monthly recommendations for you, so here's the list of things that inspired me or simply made me smile in November! I hope that you find it useful and maybe pick up something for yourself even ๐โจ
------
โจ๐ญ Quote:
"Don't gain the world and lose your soul,
Wisdom is better than silver and gold"
Just some simple yet strong words of wisdom from Bob Marley today.
โจ๐ง Music:
Here's what I was listening to this month (super random picks, I know, but so was my November):
70s ๐ถ Bob Marley and the Wailers - Three Little Birds
80s ๐ถ A-ha - The Living Daylights
90s ๐ถ Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U
00s ๐ถ Maroon 5 - This Love
10s ๐ถ Charlie Puth - We Don't Talk Anymore
20s ๐ถ Dua Lipa ft. Angรจle - Fever
โจ๐ Movie:
"Upside Down" (2012) - drama, fantasy, romance.
"Adam and Eden fell in love as teens despite the fact that they live on twinned worlds with gravities that pull in opposite directions. Ten years after a forced separation, Adam sets out on a dangerous quest to reconnect with his love."
I want to keep this one for another movie night sometime in the future, so I haven't quite watched it really when I saw it being on ๐ But I remember that I enjoyed this one a lot back in the day. Don't know when we're finally going to get a chance and watch it together, so you might want to check it out by yourself in the meantime as well ๐
โจ๐ฌ TV series:
"Lessons in Chemistry" (2023) - miniseries, 8 episodes
"In the 1950s, Elizabeth Zott's dream of being a scientist is challenged by a society that says women belong in the domestic sphere; she accepts a job on a TV cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of housewives way more than recipes."
Well, I do understand that male urge to just skip everything with Brie Larson after the "Captain Marvel" fiasco, HOWEVER... I would still recommend giving this series a try because I feel like that's one of these rare examples where matters of equality are actually addressed in a tasteful manner, for a change. It's beautifully written (based on a novel by Bonnie Garmus) and produced, the 50s flare doesn't seem fake at all, and it also has wonderful dry humour bits as well as the unpredictable, deep and truly heartbreaking love story.
I figured I will also start sharing trailers where I can so that you can decide for yourself if you want to give it a chance or not, so there you go: Lessons in Chemistry โ Official Trailer | Apple TV+
โจ๐ Podcast:
The Savings Expert: โDo Not Buy A House!โ Do THIS Instead! - Morgan Housel
I might be a little bit biased here, but I promise you I saved a couple of new podcasts from other channels as well! ๐ This one was a really nice listen, although I should admit that I was going into it feeling quite skeptical, probably because the guest is a relatively young man, at least that's how I felt (yes, I expect only Warren Buffett-type of older men to know anything worth sharing about wealth haha). The podcast is nice, not necessarily something super groundbreaking, no... but again, we're all different and have different backgrounds and habits, so I feel like you might want to give it try anyway. I feel like this is a great time to assess your personal habits and maybe build a strategy for your new year ahead. And I really don't even mind if this recommendation results in you unsubscribing from me haha - if this helps you on your path to wealth and success, so be it ๐๐ซ Oh and also, their title is a total clickbait.
By the way, have you read "The Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housel maybe? And if yes, is it a good read? Or maybe the podcast is more than enough to get the main idea. I kind of felt that it was more than enough tbh... but maybe I'm wrong, who knows ๐คทโโ๏ธ
โจ๐ ASMR:
I got recommended this channel a couple of weeks ago and when I went to check out the rest of the videos it honestly took me a while to understand what's going on! ๐ "Three Sheep ASMR" is a channel where three brothers take turns and upload their ASMR videos. I believe their channel is only 3 months old, and they've already grown so much! And rightfully so, because this concept is absolutely amazing, in my opinion! To be completely honest with you, I've always wanted to have someone to share interests with and create together like that too, so seeing that it's actually possible kind of gives me hope as well.
โจโ๏ธ Habit:
Donโt take anything personally ๐
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own views, their own perception. When you become immune to the opinions and actions of others, you finally stop being the victim of needless suffering. Keep your head up and do you. Not quite a habit this time, but more like advice.
โจ๐คช Fun:
My Otter is So Excited about The Luxury Shower Head!
You all know by now how much I love animals... and YT knows it too haha ๐ A while back I got recommended this video and it honestly made my evening, so I hope that this one can make your evening as well maybe. It's a whole channel dedicated to a cute pair of otters Kotaro and Hana ๐ฆฆ๐ I also like this one a lot: Otters Try Sparkling Water for The First Time!
------
Obviously, these are just things that I like, and if for some reason you donโt like them too... thatโs absolutely okay. We're all different and it's beautiful ๐ If you feel like checking any of those out and talking to me about it, I'd love that, really. But you don't even have to discuss those with me or anyone else at all. Even the fact that you can find something here that might interest you is more than enough for me to make it worth sharing ๐ซ
If you feel like recommending something you've recently found/watched/listened to, please feel free to do that in the comments below. I'd love to check it out if you do!
Love,
Solar โจ๐ซ
