It's the location of the first party Adriana is taking you to, and the thought of dozens of vampires with their eyes on you is a terrifying prospect. You know that panicking will make things worse - nothing draws a vampire's attention like a pounding heartbeat - but that fact only serves to make you even more nervous.

2023-07-29 16:48:31 +0000 UTCwell webster states misery as a state of great unhappiness or emotional distress, seeing as if you flip the switch on your humanity you would just feel nothing, no empathy, no happiness, no misery, nothing. Seeing as how this is just fictional and all you can really do is suppress emotion not turn them off, they will inevitably rise up eventually no matter how many times you say something doesn't effect you. It was more of a fantasy like, "when you fantasize about telling off your boss and quiting your job" you like thinking about what that would be like, but you know you could never do that because of the real life ramblifications that would have for a few minutes of satisfaction.

But no, I do not. While I can completely relate to this desire, there are several emotions that are essential for an unbiased way of thinking to be healthy, such as tempering intellect with empathy. So while abandoning such things as "humanity" is very tempting, please do not. Without empathy, we would be miserable. All of us. And I don't want anyone to suffer such a thing. So please, do not abandon your hearts, either of you. I've tried it, and it's not as wonderful as fiction makes it appear to be.
