I appreciate the part about D&I for the sake of it. Writers should communicate from experience where possible. I wouldn't want to steal the voice of a group of people who's struggle I do not know. It could come off horribly wrong or misrepresent them. My heritage and upbringing are a mixture of Native American and Welsh. Since I'm a gay man that was raised in the deep south in a hard line religious and military family; I can write with a certain amount of confidence or authority on those themes and the struggles they include. I'm just not comfortable writing from the perspective of someone who I might not do justice or hurt through ignorance because I was arrogant enough to think I *could* represent them. Definitely support the authors in those spaces if you want to be helpful in that regard. Stories are how we grow together and gain new perspective. A+ stuff Aeron
