Added 2020-10-02 21:39:05 +0000 UTCStill working on the first release of Debt. I keep waffling between design ideas vis a vis interaction. My idea for the game's flow is basically: 'event > free play > event > free play > event' and so on like that, with the 'free play' part being where the player can do the various repeatable actions with Debra.
The problem I kept going back and forth on is how much interaction to allow the player during those free play periods. At first the idea was to let the player wander around Lucas' house like in SWAK but since there are no stats there wasn't really any interaction in any room that Debra isn't in currently. So, I nixed that idea and went with something else.
Another thing I struggled with was Lucas' attraction to Debra. Like usual I wanted a nice build up to things and to explain why Lucas is suddenly attracted to her and wants to bang her, yet I also didn't want to drag it out. So, I went through a few revisions on this early content, trying to find a good medium between build up and length.
I've also changed Lucas a bit. Originally he was a lot more like Calvin in terms of both personality and appearance but since I've started actually writing scenes for him he's become less of horny jerk and I've subsequently changed his appearance a bit to match, making him more of a regular teenager. He won't be the alpha chad that a certain subset of players want every MC to be but he also won't be a noticeably ugly and fat guy either.
I should hopefully have this intro release done by 7th - 9th.
