I'm thinking you got a messed up pair. Everything you describe as issues I've had, but at a MUCH lower amount and was able to work with. I have an integrated AB amp w/ tone controls so I could drop the treble down two notches. As for the bass, I only have them 2 feet from the wall, and would still have to be at least 10 feet away. I cheat here anyways and have two S8 Emotiva subs.
