you can power them, yes, but full potential requires way more, as he mentions in the video he's almost maxing out a speaker amp that delivers 50W per channel, the Emotiva bassx, I personally have it hooked up to a crown XLS 1502 and besides the noise floor on the amp is a bit noticeable cause the headphones are pretty sensitive but can be removed, so aim for anything that can deliver more than 50W a channel, cause what happens is they get so much more lively overall when powered properly. I have used them on my THX 789, they sound okay and get somewhat loud, but just like a wow experience when given a lot of power to play, hope this helps you a bit
