Id say they are comparable. Both have similar in your face sound signatures and the soundstage is enough that it works for both fun and serious gaming.

2019-01-30 12:26:55 +0000 UTCI believe the Alara are a brainwavz version of the same headphone the quad ERA-1 is based off. ERA-1 ($800 on amazon) was inner fidelity’s product of the year 2018, so this might be an absolute bargain

2019-01-30 08:03:08 +0000 UTCfrom what i gather, wide soundstage plus bass = fun, where less soundstage but accurate imaging = pro gaming hearing footsteps etc. i generally prefer less soundstage for gaming.
