The balanced performance was the only thing that underperformed. It's performance was good from the RCAs. The DAC was still recommended. If I got this dac, I wouldn't really get it for balanced, since I'd be pairing it with the Archel Pro anyway.

So do you suggest just pick up an enog now (with the current promotion and the code it's $40 off) and maybe try to pick up the su-8 later? Or just skip out on this one until the su-8 goes on sale again? Wasnt originally looking to buy both since end game is end game and having one setup with multiple headphones is there goal. I'm not too worried about not having balanced for now but having it is nice to break weird ground loops since i have to run my computer, amp, and dac on the same power strip.

Will it be your only DAC? The Enog isn't really a "one dac for everything" kinda thing. The SU-8 is a much more rounded package if you only plan to have one dac. I keep thinking about picking up a dac with balanced outputs but then I look at my 6" shielded rca cables and I start to second guess my intelligence. Am I really going to worry about balanced interconnect cables for a 6" run....

The Syba Sonic USB headphone amp/dac has an optical and spdif out. My computer dosnt have a SPDIF or coaxial, what do i do.

Same issue with many ifi products (connections at both ends)... ifi makes great products too but, looks-wise, it's the odd man out

Agree with THX AAA being better than Jotunheim. Haven't compared them side-by-side yet, but I have no real ambition to put the Jot back in my chain in the week or 2 that I've had the 789. My Jot has no add-on module, so each amp was being fed from the same Source (Modi Multibit). Maybe I'll do a head-to-head sometime soon, but I already know the result.

Massdrop shows a Grace designed SDAC-B (balanced). It was $149 on preorder. Don't know the cost when it drops again.

I really like mine, but connections on both sides is kinda killin it for me too. We digress back to the O2 amp days.
