If I have a Mayflower t50 and a stock t20, would I have any reason to also get an Argon or t60? And what do they do different?

I used the FX-Audio DAC-X6 in high gain mode with a different opamp and it is more than powerful enough. I warmed to these in stock after I listened for a few days and started to enjoy them. Argon adds more bass, a bit warmer and more sound stage. The deerskin strap is to die for.

Argons are so nice, more bass, non fatiguing, listen to them all day. Sound stage you are in a room or cave with the musicians. The ZMF pads and deerskin are so good almost floats on your head.

having less powerful amps means shittier and muddier bass while toning down on the top end. it's just how it's tuned. that's it.

Hi Z, have you tried them with a less powerful amp?
I got those when i saw them on Massdrop and love the shit out of them on my Schiit Fulla 2, but despise them on my Emotiva A-100 (then they realy scream at me and yes, i agree, then there is noting close to "music" comming out of them).
So i guess these don't like powerful amps???

Metal571 and DMS have videos on them too. They are worth checking out.

Yea, after rewatching Z's review of the Argons I decided to and will be sending them in :)

They will fetch near what you paid for them and people who want a proper Argon mod will snap them up. Try Head-Fi.

If you can arrange postage it's only $60 to get the mod done internally and then whatever pads you like. I do recommend that deerskin strap though coz reasons. Why is it worth it? You might have one of the best cost to performance ratio headphones money can buy.

Been trying to think if I should send them into modhouse since i got them, the Dekoni Sheepskin pads seem to make the bass a bit sharper but yea still muddyish. only frustrating thing is sending them from Australia to America and back again is $$$.

you know they are bad if he doesn't put them on his head for more than 5 minutes in...

Fuck, I'm just about to sell them months ago, but procrastination. Now they are worth nothing

I was let down by them at first and actually warmed to the T-X0 after a while (could be burn in) but getting them back this week from Ryan at Modhouse after a 4-5 week holiday. "Much excited" for an all black Argon with lambskins pads and deerskin strap. To be honest I originally bought them for about $100 knowing they would become Argons due to MK2 being the original Argon and the MK3 being it's own thing even if that is similar at the finishing line. The strap was a bit hard. I did like the pads on the Modern Retro. For the mod it's $135 with pads and strap I think.

I have ordered a pair of T60s, haha. I hope they’re different to the T50 MK3s! Otherwise I’m just getting a nice looking headphone for my desk :P

I'm excited for all the reviews I know are coming! I just hope you stay true to yourself and don't rush any of them. I trust you though.
