Z Review - Sony MDR-Z7

I'd do the Z7 just for the soundstage.

Im wondering if I should pick up a pair of Z7 for Fun PS4 gaming. Z7 or THX00. Thoughts anyone? If the Z7 has more Sound Stage and more or equal Bass I may lean towards the Z7.

I think these will be my next buy after I build my rifle.

I agree. We all hear different things. I love my Z7s. They just have their place within my stable. I prefer them over almost everything else in their price range. Their comfort and build are unparalleled at their price. And the cable is amazing. They do sound a lot better in my Wells Audio Milo than they do in my portable amp. They love power.

Bliss is different to everyone. You have to want a softer set for the Z7

I own both the Z7 and Alpha Prime. As well as the Eikon. I love them all, but yesterday decided to A/B the Z7s against them and it was very interesting. The Z7 are the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever worn. But against the others they are boomy and bloated. Very warm and loose. I love them for travel and movies. But they aren't even close to the Alpha Primes. The AP are my favorite closed back still. Linear, separation, imaging and perfect bass representation. Eikon are semi open so not fair to compare. I do really like the Z7, but they aren't close in the sonic bliss category.

Not spent enough time with the 2000z yet. So can't REALLY say.

Not really. The 560 are built to pick and choose from a stereo connector left and right. Different.

Do these Sony's come close to what the TH-900's do?

Would that balanced cable work with the m560s?

Im also not a bass head but i have a pair of Sony MDR-XB90EX IEMs which i think are great, only available in Japan, the import is worth the inconvenience and expense. Zeos i may just send them over to you the next time you have an IEM shoot out. Let me know?

Tough call. Gotta say the Sony edge it out.

Sony always has a softspot for me. The world is a better place when Sony is healthy and innovative. I really hope they're back in the game. Any plans to review the Z1Rs?
