Just got mine and I completely understand what you mean when you say the switches are addictive... like damn. The 3D switch is doing something but I cant tell exactly what it is yet but for some reason I like it on. Gonna have to do some careful AB'ing to try and figure out this black magic

L700 if you want to go all out. The 300 and 500 are the same with different clothes.

i am thinking what to get, L300 set, L500 set or L700 set, maybe even gonna order an amp from island, mjölnir sound, they have gotten a lot of good feedback for producing such a niche product. too bad money doesn't grow on trees :/

Copy that. So far I've personally used my 'Basic' STAX model with the Fostex HP-A4, IFI iDAC2 and the Audeze Deckard. The Deckard sounds the best thus far.

Waiting on two amps from WOO that will also power them. Want to know how they respond to a bunch of them first.

yeah it just limits the amplifier. The sound quality doesn't change.

In my opinion and from my years of experience with HIFI equipment the Burr Brown and Wolfson dacs are smooth and musical, these were always used in high end equipment like Wadia, Theta and Mark Levinson back in the days of disc spinners. The Cirrus Logic dacs were less musical and quite clinical in comparison, i hope that the Sabre dac does not lean more towards a Cirrus Logic sounding dac. Audio GD do manufacture a NFB12 (Wolfson dac), anyway I've taken a leap of faith on this one and once in hand i will provide some personal feedback.

Alright, yes. Burr brown double sided dildo dac. This versus the Sabre dac. who wins and why. obviously I'm still skeptical about the NFB11.

Just maybe i should have ordered one of these instead of the Audio GD NFB11, with the upgrades and shipping it comes in at a similar price.

This might be a stupid question, but that power mode switch is really just a gain switch right? So its not like Eco mode would have lower quality somehow right?

I am having one today and I coludn't pass it up for anew desktop for $399 instead of $549. The Questyle CMA 600I will have to wait unitl I can listen to it to part with that much money.
