From the Desk of Dr Toni Lodge #033

Welcome to blog 33, and episode #3 of A,Blog,C’s!

Today we’re working with the letter D.

The first two words I thought of were Denim and Decanter. I’m not really sure why as I sit here with a cup of tea wearing winter pyjamas. Sooo…. No denim and no wine.

I think denim does make sense, as we all know I LOVE a denim jacket. I think I might be moving beyond the denim jacket at the moment. It’s so COLD in Melbourne right now, it’s just not warm enough! I did buy a stash of knitwear recently because I’m going to be chasing Winter this year a little bit. We’ll go from Winter here in Melbourne, then as it’s getting warmer in Spring, we’ll rewind into cooler weather when we hop over to America!

Yesterday Producer Cam and I were discussing what we should take to the US with us while we’re over there. Because we both wanna look hot and cool and fashionable but problem 1, I’m not hot and cool and fashionable and problem 2, living out of a suitcase for a little while makes looking cool a bit difficult!

Any clothing advice? Any must-haves for October / November weather?

Like are we talking coats and gloves and scarves? Or just jeans and a jumper?!

ALSO I guess it would be remiss of me to not discuss the decanter… I don’t even have a decanter and I don’t know what it does. Let me google.

Okay so this one is a WHISKY decanter? And the purpose is: A whiskey decanter serves two main purposes: to allow aromas to oxidize and to serve as a more appealing vessel than a branded bottle. Decanters are used for other spirits, as well, such as tequila, with similar styles and shapes.

This one is a WINE decanter, and the purpose is: Decanting has numerous benefits, including separating the sediment from the liquid. This is especially helpful for red wines, which hold the most sediment. Decanting also enhances a wine's flavor by exposing it to fresh air, and allowing it to breathe.

So I don’t really get it… Is it a bit wanky? I’ve never decanted anything - do I need to start? Maybe I’ll decant my cup of tea.

Love you!

Dr Toni Louise Felicia Lodge xoxo
