Batman Returns ended up being better for me. The condition of Tim coming back to direct is that he was allowed total creative control so it's more of a Tim Burton movie than a Batman movie.

When I saw this in '89 I was so excited that it was fun to watch but much more serious in tone compared to the series. This will always be my favorite Batman, although Nolan's were great. Really enjoyed your reaction!

And Micheal Keaton was criticized by the mass that he was too comical to be playing Batman, because the year before he played Beetlejuice and years before other comical films.
