The Lore of Summit - Chapter 1

This is the lore I am laying out for the town of Summit to explain what is happening to my characters.

In the small town of Summit, there was a scientist who was privately researching how to cure muscular dystrophy. He, himself, was suffering from such a condition. He had been testing it on various animals, but it never did anything for them. He decided he needed to start testing it on humans: himself. He actually found a version of the serum that worked well enough to fix the problem for a few hours, but he wanted a complete cure and to make up for all the time he lost to the condition quickly.

The next version of the serum he landed on ended up being too potent, but he didn't realize his mistake. It stopped being a simple cure for muscular dystrophy, and became a mutagen compound. The serum causes the body to rapidly go through puberty over and over.

When the scientist injected himself, he started rapidly growing muscle mass at a rate beyond comprehension. The news anchor didn't like the story about curing muscular dystrophy, so he was making up a story that he liked, and he then said the scientist wanted this to happen and that the scientist wanted to become an alpha man. The truth of the matter is, the news anchor himself was getting hard at the idea of being like that alpha of a man.

The news anchor explained that the best way to show the effects of the serum is to take it himself, so he snatched the vial and downed the whole thing without hesitation. He immediately started growing. The news anchor grew so fast, and on live television! It became one of the most watched news stories in the world, as people everywhere got front row seats to what would be most men's dreams.

The running rumor is that those two giant men are in a deep bunker facility where they are kept permanently sedated, while the military runs tests to see if the serum can be extracted and used for military applications, but that's just what everyone keeps saying. It seems very plausible.
