Intro

A young Daemon went up to its mother. "Ma, why must I leave?" it asked.

Growling softly, its mother told it, "You have to leave, heart of mine. Verre is a big place and you must find your place in it. You can't do that if you remain here."

"Can't I do that here?" Her child asked.

"Not if you want the best" she informed it. "The mountain is ours, child and what's ours is yours, you know that. Nevertheless, you must find a mountain of your own. Mine is not a child to rest on his father's laurels. Remember these words!

"The Earth rewards the diligent and the Heavens, the excellent. That which you do not earn is quickly lost and that which comes easily, goes easily. He without feats is forgotten and she who gains not for herself has nought but herself. Those that are content achieve nothing and those who never aspire to greater heights rest in the squalor at the bottom", she recited. "What says our mantra?"

"I am titan childe! Proud scion of the firstborn. Strong are my sinews and great are my bellows. Sharp are my claws and tough is my hide My essence fills the earth. My will erupts to heaven. Verre is mine by right. Its land to rule, its people command and its treasures possess. I am titan childe! Scion of the firstborn!" it chanted proudly.

"Good!" The daemon mother acknowledged. "Starting tomorrow, you'll have to prove that."
