If they want no complaints, they can shut down the patreon and continue to do 1 drawing a month for the production of the game. But no, he chose to accept funding from people for the creation of this game, and chose to milk it as much as possible. You say it's moving smoothly, I say its not moving at all. I took a screenshot 6 months ago, and the progress % has moved up by 2% in that timeframe. Either DC needs to hire people with the wheelbarrows of cash hes making to finish this game, or he needs to put in some actual work.

The best place to download a clean copy is at the summertimesaga website. go to the menu, select download and select the version you need. the file is quite large so expect it to take some time. current version is 20.16. apologies for repeating something you already know. the tech update is coming. not sure when yet. should make things easier overall

There is no moral issue. The speed is what it is. if the community has an issue with it then volunteer to help make the game. We are being forced to pay, we choose to. We aren't being lied to either. Not sure where you get the 58% number. The tech update is at roughly 80%. Additional story arcs (to be added in the future) like Annie, Coach, and many others make up a large percentage still to come. As DC kindly adds our requests (further out), it does change the overall percentage completed. If you read through the update list, many problems are resolved and improvements made. I think once the technical update is complete and debugged, things will be much faster and updates much quicker.

I want to remind everyone that this game is completely free to play. I understand that the tech update is taking a while, but it's important to remember that no one is obligated to support the game. It's completely up to you to decide whether or not you want to continue playing. While we all eagerly anticipate the tech update, we can do other things and play other games in the meantime. The update is currently at 80%, and after fixing the progress bar, it's been moving along smoothly. So, let's be patient and avoid complaining about the time it takes for a free game to release a major update.

The game is "free to play" in the sense McDonalds would be around if they offered all their food off for free and relied upon charitable donations. Even if DC stopped doing anything for the rest of the year > coder and posers would still take that time to maybe finish their tasks. You do know (almost) everything DC did for the last year+ was adding stuff the other devs suggested to him to flesh out the routes/add new stuff (like Missy's house or many of the newly needed buildings from the wider map) ? The last "real update" was March 2021. That's when the "work on the tech build started" (probably not, but that's the date we have). The last "content update" was October 2022

Go back to the 1st report, compile what's been done since then, guesstimate that there's at least 1 more year of stuff done before that, check what the version we have contains, substract that to the amount of junk in the reports and you'll have a relative idea of what's done and what's left. Is there a way to just explain what needs to be finished and not tell us what's done. This is nice and all but does not really give a grand scope of what's going on and what the wait time can be. Have you ever designed a game from the ground up then had to tear it down completely and redo it all the while adding new things or complete having to redo and relearn certain processes? Instead of just updating the old scenes to bigger resolution scenes they are working on (more) new scenes and more quests and more this and so on...I'm out here and will take a look again next year. If I would work like this I would have been fired long ago. I put my money into other projects where you can not just see 'results' as wallpapers but in a real playable game updates.

I said in a previous post a couple months ago that if there was no update I would be cancelling my subscription in February. This is me upholding that statement. If your a random person reading this, know that I posted that probably in December or early January, and their progress bar has only moved, at most, 3-4% on their progress bar on their official site. I got a message from Dark Cookie stating the following: Hey Nymous, The Tech Update is a beast and we're essentially rebuilding the game, from the ground up. This also requires re-exporting every single asset (there's thousands) and re-posing every single scene (also in the thousands). I'm sorry you feel unsatisfied with the progress but I promise the team and I are working hard on developing the game and getting it done. Don't feel obliged to support us continuously. You clearly need to take a break and if you feel so inclined, come back when larger updates are out. -Me again. I post this primarily to show you what their mindset is. It has been, quite literally, over a year, if not multiple years since their last content update. They feel they have an excuse and so they won't provide anything. The funny thing is I know there are idiots who would say, "Oh they're doing a big overhaul of the game, what do you know, how could they update us if they're doing such an overhaul?" You release the overhaul in increments, updating it overtime like the original game, duh. Instead you've left us all on read for nearly if not 2-3 years. I am formally cancelling my monthly donation, and I will henceforth either pirate or donate the minimum amount to get whatever update you publish 2 years from now, and then immediately cancel my subscription.

If you want to gauge the speed of things, you can get the higher pledge to look at their internal list of work. XN is just pulling out figures.
