TBH, I love this game. The long wait time can be torturous, but I’ve found it to be generally acceptable. Certainly acceptable enough to donate a little bit each month. If I’m dying to get my rocks off, I can always replay, or visit a porn site. Mind you, I am really hoping for a gloryhole sex update with Cassie/Olivia. And I actually hope there will one day be an option of having sex with the red headed sex worker without a condom too. :D

Wait can you prove factually that all his funding is going to family and that his only source of income is this Patreon exclusively? Can you really say that with straight face because I’ve seen a group of 2 do more with less while holding down their own in this situation. I severely doubt this is his only source of income. You’d really have to provide sims sources. If this is his only source of income then technically it means it’s his job. Patreon isn’t just a give a donation foundation anymore. It’s a business platform and many peoples jobs to create consistent content on it. A donation and a subscription service are very different and Patreon is clearly a sub service, it’s the new kick starter now for most creators and should be treated as such

I think a lot of frustration comes from the ~8 year timer on how long this game will take to develop. I'm a huge fan, but that's just too ambitious of a project. I've been a supporter for years. I can't support this game from age 21-29. IMO that's really the only valid excuse anyone can make for being upset. There is no correlation between money earned and amount of work produced. I'm sure everyone would like DC to have a set $50,000/year salary and just constantly upgrade the equipment and team working around him.. but that's not the way the world works. This is what he's doing for a living. He has to put his family first. The work is consistent. Just because the money intake increases doesn't mean he should fix what isn't broken. DC is paid with donations. DC is not contractually obligated to do anything. This is his project. His rules. He could scrap it tomorrow and it is what it is. In short I am bummed out, but I also recognize DC isn't guilty of any crime. Of course, everyone is entitled to an opinion, as negative or positive as it may be.

This either means that the project is being run poorly and incompetently, or he’s doing a Star Citizen - milking a deluded fanbase too stupid to know any better. I've been saying similar stuff for awhile now, at the very least we should be seeing regular updates every two months. Like playable updates. Its been six months since the last major content update, they sound like their gonna drop 2.0 here soon, so quite a huge gap. Not to mention 2.0, while large, is being divided into two parts that wont drop at the same time. I keep telling people to role back to minimum payments till releases. You got people like Vren dropping updates every two months and hes doing it solo for his game. (I will saying he is using Cg though so its a little easier to work with) Basically, if they could get a more consistent update time for the game I would ship the game so fucking hard.

Here is the problem... He had a baby/Covid-19/blah , blah blah... None of these creators are stepping up saying... "Listen this update is going to take a lot longer. I will release a small version update sooner (3-4 months), or you will have to wait a while to get the big update you deserve." They are not working at full capacity but don't want to tell you because they don't want to lose your patreonage. So we are stuck waiting for a single version update after nearly 5 months, but everyone sticks around for it, because... What is your other option? I just wish the creators were more up front.

He has already lost almost $5000 since he posted saying he was bug testing (which is a load of shit) I programmed multiple games in Java and I could have a list of over 100 bugs and still get them completely handled in 24 hours, maybe longer if I was having difficulties yet this idiot takes over 6 months to release HALF of an update and then says he needs to bug test which renpy is an absolute joke platform to code which is disgusting it takes them that long to fix bugs. All for money... finishing the second half of version 20 update by December? A full year and over a half million in profits.... to get an appartment and a few hardcore scenes. Entire games are produced in that time frame. Its clearly about the profits. If you cared about your followers, you would hire more workers!!
