Hello everyone, not sure if you remember my previous post about my main laptop being dead or something like that. To summarize, I was playing Genshin Impact, and the laptop froze. After some theorizing about what could have happened, it seems the device was overheating to the point of automatically shutting down. I took it to a technician who explained possible causes and assumed that a simple cleaning, fan maintenance, and thermal paste application would solve it (I usually do this myself, but I thought a professional opinion would be more valuable, in case I was doing something wrong).

Yesterday, I got it back, and when they showed me that everything was supposedly in perfect condition, the same problem occurred right in front of the technician, who finally believed me. They told me they’d run a full diagnostic, and the repair cost would be almost half the price of the laptop. I’m really upset because: 1. It’s a considerable sum. 2. It could take up to two weeks since they’ll send it to the company’s central repair facility.

I’m feeling quite down. I think I have enough completed material to keep posting on Patreon without any issues (I backed everything up to Mega, but it takes time to download, as it’s about 300 GB of content—extras, concepts, research, etc.). However, some ongoing projects will be paused because this backup laptop doesn’t have enough power to generate images. I’ll try to rent a slightly better computer or figure something out. Just wanted to let you all know, just in case.
