Great album, but totally lacks the standout vocal riffs they are known for.

Life Goes on is aiming for number 1 on Hot100

Like the respect i give chris brown and beyonce is nothing like the respect i give bts. Because their songs either give you answers or create a new road map of your life and i want to say i know a grammy is important to my presidents but our love, support amd appreciation is more important

Tee Lee

i really don't understand all this universe stuff. i love NCT and love SM groups but this is really too much. as for those produce 1 PD's - what idiots. if you are gonna waste 2 years of your life in jail do you really want to say it was for rigging a singing contest. how stupid. also yay to BTS!!!

Cathy

I know we’re going to talk about BE, which I am loving very much. So I’ll ask about another group’s song that I clicked on on a whim. What do you think about Momoland’s Ready or Not? It’s a fun listen. Maybe even better than that.

Liz F

the big universe thing only works when its not that complicated. Bts universe worked for me because it was mostly about real topics like youth, depression, friendship, etc.

Lizeth

probably not

Those trainees ... need a BIG CHECK! They are so flaw for kicking that girl in the LAST ROUND!! Omggggg IZ*One is so popular she missed out on such a great opportunity.. I would and could never forgive them. Because money is cool but the biggest part they missed out on was her passion! Singing and dancing! Nothing you can do to compensate that.

Regarding the SM Universe, I agree that those concepts should be kept within albums or album series, a perfect example would probably be how BTS does it. (HYYH part 1&2, Love yourself Her, Tear, Answer, and my personal fav Map Of The Soul) Because otherwise it becomes a burden to keep up with what’s going on and also gets boring if drawn out. The biggest issue I have is the possibility of restricting these groups message to only follow the whole Universe, like what if the group wanted to speak on a completely different topic? would they have to abandon good ideas or stretch them ridiculously? But I guess most SM comebacks aren’t usually written or created by the members itself so maybe it doesn’t matter that much in terms of limiting their creative freedom but the situation could still happen.

BE was everything I could’ve asked for... at the moment i’m experiencing pandemic depression (lol) due to everything being shut down, school online, can’t see friends and family etc... and this album spoke to every emotion i’ve been feeling. Life Goes On hit me hard as a comforting song to cry and embrace myself with, along with Blue & Grey Dis ease completely FLOORED me! BTS is known (and best😦) at hiphop, they served with the rhythm, flow, and charisma. Honestly.... I hope it has a dance routine! Lastly.. the flow of the entire album is amazing, starting with the slow and soothing songs to a more upbeat and uplifting sound. It acknowledges your pain and then cheers you up!

Cassandra Carithers

I just love BE so much because the songs really resonate with me, could tell they were made by pouring their hearts and inner experience, which is so precious cuz many of the songs nowadays are just looping meaningless lyrics, but BTS always made their music so autobiographical 😍

Ychan

Oh, Blue & Grey really spoke to me as a Korean adoptee. That freaking blue question mark.

mothermade

Will definitely try to make this after show. “Racism, America, Sonny, and the British” … I’m ready.

mothermade

I have a real serious question I need answered in the aftershow. Are the shots from the life goes on MV really their dorm? And the outside shot, is that really their backyard??? Cause I’m about to redecorate over here.

Can't wait for your opinion on BE. I have a feeling Danny might like it since slower melancholic songs are more of his taste, I guess? It's the same for me and I loved this album. I really appreciate that Bighit didn't go for some hardhitting or bubblegum pop song (well I guess that's why they included Dynamite but I still don't see it as a part of the album, it doesn't fit the mood) like everyone probably expects of them at this point. This album and its title is not the type to top the charts or break records, and I'm sure they know that. It's just music for people to enjoy (mostly fans), it feels nostalgic and... humane, kind of. But these are just my thoughts, I'm really curious what you think about the new release.

Nailya

Just FYI Grammy noms come out tomorrow. Lots of buzz about BTS, BP, and SuperM. Either way would love to hear your thoughts

I feel like universe building caters to hardcore fans. I don’t really care for it. Most of the time I don’t mind, except for when it comes to introducing groups/MVs to non fans. They often find it confusing and overwhelming. Do you think it turns off the ability to have casual fans? If so, do you think companies like SM should chase the casual fans or increase the passion of the hardcore ones they already have? I think they want an MCU for SM artists. In my opinion the story has to be followable or interesting enough on its own without the SM artists names for it to work. Complicated for the sake of complicated is just annoying.

Eri

Disclaimer: this is not intended to spark fan wars, i am just genuinely curious and bc i am a fan of bts my knowledge is super biased I am very curious to know how BTS is viewed by fellow celebrities and musicians (from people in & out of your circle/connections, stuff u seen online, etc.). Do other musicians out of the K-pop world think they are overhyped? I really like K-Hip Hop and K-RnB, but I almost never see any of them mention BTS. (I know that idol music tends to get discredited cause thats just the way rappers are lmao) However, I have seen Blackpink mentioned a few times. I know that YG tends to have more grit and a bigger background in hip hop and RnB, but is this the norm? Do fellow musicians actually like BTS and their music or simply applaud them for bringing more attention to the Korean music scene?

skylar

I actually don’t want them to feel like they have to do an album in English. If they happened to write or collaborate with songwriters and get they felt English was the best choice then great. But it needs to be what’s best for them and their music.

Jennifer Mattly

I am from africa and i can tell you that western and southern africa parts are into kpop i am not sure about the eastern part because they are more invested in k dramas, but let me say this african fans are dope as hell. They shuold do a concert maybe in south africa or ghana or nigeria. I like that sm is trying to reach hard markets of the world, but warning the genre should not be pop. Pop can not beat afrobeats in africa so they should do some afrobeats

Tee Lee

Following success of Dynamite, BTS could've taken advantage of the momentum and released english songs and collaborated with huge western artists, but they chose not to. Instead they released an album that's specially made for ARMYs, in full korean! 💜 What are your thoughts on this?

Elora

I feel so bad for baekho. Being in that vulnerable state and getting taken advantage of :((

Jenny Lee

Do you think any other kpop groups will be welcomed into American award shows like BTS?
