Against the private language argument

Comments

Premise 1: Language is a representation of reality, expressing a person's mental content and assigning meaning to objects and processes in the world. Premise 2: Private language exists as an idiolect, formed in infancy and later shaped by formal education. Premise 3: Education, as a tool of the state, aims to integrate private idiolects into a functional public language for political community. Premise 4: Subcultures emerge as a pushback against dominant public discourses, utilizing private language as a tool for expression. Conclusion: Private language, while existing within a public perception, serves as both a means of social integration and a tool for marginalized groups to challenge dominant narratives and assert their unique perspectives.

sorry man I don't want to pester but run through chat gpt that could say: 'think about how we all start with our unique way of speaking when we're young. This personal language, or idiolect, gets shaped and formalised by what we learn in school. Education acts as a tool used by society to transform our individual ways of speaking into a common language that everyone can understand. This common language helps us function and communicate within our community. However, people often resist these top-down forces that try to standardise our ways of speaking and thinking. This resistance gives rise to subcultures and unique forms of expression. These new forms of private language become a way for those who feel voiceless to push back against the dominant, mainstream culture. Instead of simply accepting the language and ideas imposed by those in power, these private languages allow for new voices and perspectives to emerge and influence society from the ground up.' After that it's intelligible.

The notion of a private language entails there is a public perception of what could be the case. The case as an expression of what is ostensibly a content of mind given that language is a form of representation of reality which a person attests to as being a form of meaning in relation to objects in the world as well as processes. The processes as constructs are in this sense a private language qua the public domain. A persons idiolect is such a form of private language which had been part of the infant linguistic formation that then became formalised through various modes of educational top down formulations. It's in this sense that education becomes the tool of the state to in a sense deconstruct the private idiolect into a system of functional structural forms of self that can function within a form of political community. It is through the process of push back to the top down forces of linguistic public dominant discourses that sub cultural forms of personhood emerge as proto private typologies of discontent. The private language becomes a tool for the voiceless to a sense have a trickle up impact rather than be content with the top down dominant discourse of wealth and power.
