It's the realism of choice for non state actors who are more or less free from group think or governance traditionalism. Although non state actors are usually also a cohort known as the working poor or the very rich. So could be advocated as a means to grow self esteem exponentially. Self esteem and realism seems to correlate as its the high water mark in identity politics as belief in a moral realism requires power to as it were force it upon cohorts of actors who may be engaged in tribalism that understand little of what it all amount to. Powerful governments and corporations with a global reach in this sense project ethical norms through institutional instruments like inter governmental bodies like WHO (COVID ethics) and the UN (universal declaration of rights).
