Following the sucess of recent retrospectives on David Bowie, Michael Clark and Mary Quant, in summer 2026 the V&A will be holding a retrospective on the work of Rhys Jenner. It may seem premature to be holding a retrospective on this young star's work so early in his career but his body of work is already becoming overwhelming. The exhibition will trace Rhys' early years in Solva (with photographs from the family archive never before seen in public), to becoming the most celebrated winner of Bergman & Knightley's 'Boys Will Be Girls' competition, to becoming a supermodel and media personality with his own fashion ranges, make-up brand, and his Fem-Factory boutiques. Rhys shows all the signs of following in Kylie Jenner's footsteps to become the UK's first fashion and make-up billionaire. (Will a link up with Timothy Chalamet be far behind, one wonders? Although happy with his current boyfriend, it's an open secret in showbiz circles that Rhys would like Timothy behind him.) The opening of the exhibtion is timed to coincide with the first episode of Rhys' new reality TV series on "The Boy from Solva" on Apple TV following the screening of the documentary with the same name on the BBC last year. We are pleased that the launch party for both the exhibtion and the TV series will be held at the V&A on the opening night.. The retrospective exhibtion will be curated by Andrew Watson. Mr Watson has been a close follower of Ms Jenner's career since his early days at B&K. Mr Watson has been a ceaseless promoter of Ms Jenner's work and helped bring the aspiring supermodel to prominence through modelling assignments, magazine covers, and advertising work. Mr Watson himself is an experienced model and artist, working for many years with B⚥y? and for The Fullerton-Jones Agency. He brings a model and artist's eye to the exhbition. We are in for a treat.
