I often get asked if you really need a powerful or expensive computer to learn TouchDesigner. And honestly… my answer might surprise you.
Added 2025-09-01 18:00:06 +0000 UTCEverything I’ve created so far was made on a $500 laptop. Nothing fancy: 4GB graphics card, 8GB RAM — that’s it. At one point, I even had a better laptop, but it was stolen only a few months after starting this journey. At first, I thought that was the end of my creative path. I used to believe the better the machine, the better the results.
But then something shifted. I realized that the most powerful part of art has never been the tools — it’s how we use what we already have, and how much freedom we give to our own creative impulse. That thought changed everything.
I decided to stay with the basic laptop and uninstall everything else: no Adobe Suite, no 3D modelers, no extra software. Instead, I dedicated myself fully to TouchDesigner. And what happened? The more I limited my resources, the more creative I became. I learned to push the boundaries not of the computer, but of my imagination.
Even today, with all the limitations of that simple setup, I keep discovering that the true ceiling of creativity is much higher than any computer can define. That realization motivates me every day to dig deeper into intuition and exploration.
💡 That’s also why I built the Beginner’s Course. I wanted to prove that you don’t need an expensive machine to start creating in TouchDesigner. As long as you have the basics — and that heartbeat of curiosity — you can start building from day one.
So if you’ve been waiting to begin, here’s the truth: the laptop you already have is enough. What really matters is your willingness to learn and your desire to create.
🎓 The Beginner’s Course is open now, and it’s designed to guide you step by step — no matter your setup. Beginners Course Here 👉 https://okamirufu.link/skool
