ICYMI: WARRIOR CAPTIVE UPDATE:
Added 2021-12-11 23:22:12 +0000 UTC(The post I made on FB not too long ago, thought I would share here in case you're not in my group.)
This deeply saddens me, mainly because I am an overly proud person when it comes to following through with what I say I'm going to do. It's quite possibly one of my fatal flaws. I do not want to be someone you cannot count on to deliver what they say they will do.
But with that being said, I have canceled the upcoming release of Warrior Captive. To the 8 of you who preordered, you will probably get an email from Amazon that it's been canceled and you will not have to do anything else.
As many of you know, it is not due to a lack of drive or muse, but mainly a lack of time.
For transparency's sake, I will do my best to explain.
My publishing schedule originally was supposed to be book one in the Sinners and Angels duet, then Warrior Captive, then book two of the duet. I had plenty of time, until I didn't.
What I did not anticipate happening when I made this plan was being advised to get both books in the duet out first. When it had a rather lackluster release, I had to pivot again, writing another book I had not planned for, which ended up being significantly longer than I ever imagined (Untamed Vixen is quite a beast, but I do absolutely love the shit out of that book.)
With those three non-stop projects, I have had zero downtime. I typically draft rather quickly, making my burnout post-release hit me like a freight train. I have somehow compartmentalized and pushed that away for not just one launch, but three. It might not seem like much, but it's been a heavy drain on my mental health. My anxiety is at an all-time high, and I have not been sleeping well, for quite some time.
My biggest concern is not that I can finish Warrior Captive in time (she's nearly halfway written) it's that I will not be delivering a product that I am confident and pleased with. I deserve that. You deserve that.
Warrior Captive is still in the works, and will more than likely be released not too long after its original release date, but until I know for sure when that will be, I think it's best to take that external pressure off myself and take a breath. Maybe even wash my damn hair and wrap my kiddos Christmas presents.
Canceling a preorder with Amazon means losing preorder privileges for a year. I will try to email them and get them reinstated, but it's possible that my 2022 releases may be live releases. We will see.
Tiff & I will still be doing promo for Warrior Captive, because she is absolutely next on the production list, she just won't have an active Amazon preorder link.
In the meantime, thank you for being here, for supporting me, and no doubt understanding it is not my intention to let you down but to ensure you only get the best from me.
