This month has been sort of a wonky one for me. I haven't accomplished what I've set out to do, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. This past week, instead of focusing on the writing aspect of being an author, I invested my time into marketing. I met a friend who helped me rework some of my Facebook ads, and so far, I've managed to double my October book income (for sake of transparency, I made $11 in book sale royalties in October, and as of now I'm at $28 for November). I'm sure that seems like a tiny amount to you, and while it is, it's baby steps towards hopefully a profitable, or at least self-sustainable, author career.
Nothing sells book one like book two, so I'm hoping to shift my focus from marketing book one, and getting more of book two on paper. Sitting around the 1/3 mark on the first draft as of now.
I'm thinking about writing a short novella to offer for free as a reader magnet (to help get people to sign up for a mailing list/newsletter) and I'd like to know if you folks have any suggestions on what you'd like to see. Fairly certain all of you have either read the book or own the book, so I thought you might be able to offer an opinion on who/what type of story you'd like to read. Could be backstory on Max, Skylar... something like that or I'm open to suggestions! (I'd like it to take place prior to the storyline of book one though, in case future people haven't read the story yet).
Thank you to all of you for being here and being supportive of my creative life, it really does mean the world to me!
