Getting Troika moving has been a slog. I've been working away on everything except creative endeavours for almost a year now. This has resulted in 11 books for Troika being put in motion. One is already out (Fronds of Benevolence) 2 are written and illustrated, 3 are written, and 5 are in various drafts states.
Troika is doing ok. It's earning just enough money for me to then give that money to others to take some of these jobs off my hands. Nowadays I don't mess with social media unless I want to, I don't handle post, and I don't manage projects. This is saving me an incredible amount of time. Now I am slowly coming back to writing as my main thing. Just as soon as everything else smooths out.
You may have noticed we're funding a Troika campaign. Evey Lockhart wrote the outstanding Wet Granpda if you're unfamiliar. We took some serious risks in making this book. We compensated the writer up front, we paid a living wage to the artists. I'm confident it will at least do ok, and that's frankly way more than ok considering it's a setting book for a niche game with no miniatures or influencers on hand (ok I'm a grumpy old man when it comes to funding books).
Spread the word if you're feeling generous.
In the meantime I'm still working, and now it's more and more on actual CONTENT. Such a relief. Those of you who have stuck with me, you have the tolerance of saints. To the new people, your trust is appreciated more than you might know.
2020 is gonna be a whole thing.
