Just an update on my situation, so my computer has been picked up (or was, two days ago) by a company that does diagnostics and tells the insurance company what it's worth. Once the insurance company stops having a heart attack at the value (lol) they will cut a check for them and for me. Then diagnostics company brings my brick back to me. I think most of the parts are salvageable; brand new memory and insane video card. I just have to have the motherboard replaced (fortunately I have a custom build, should be quick enough) and then reinstall software and I will be good to go.
I keep backups upon backups upon backups, so hopefully this will all be over before next weekend.
Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately I can't give you even drafts or anything in the meantime, because they have all of my work with them.

A little bit. I mean, you sign a form with them that prevents them from sharing anything on it, so whatever. I just want it back so I can work again. Shouldn't be too much longer now.
