re: the Years of Lead it’s important to note that they usually reference Operation Gladio and the strategy of tension, ie manufacturing instability to encourage surrender to authority people bringing it up are probably suggesting these killers are being encouraged and possibly even manufactured by those in power for the same reason

I really liked this episode. I would really like to hear more about Tyler Robinson, especially in light of the additional information that came out about him in the media after this episode was made. Thanks for all the insight, I am excited to support you on Patreon. This is definitely opening my mind because normally I stay away from social media. But thanks for summarizing it for me, so I can keep staying away from it.

W/R/T the Tik Tok broadcaster, my mind went right to Robert Downey Jr. in Natural Born Killers. Surely myopic and troubling but this approach to content creation is not new. People have been doing it for decades. Any on-the-scene TV news reporters of the 80's and 90's is very similar to this. Surely cynical but one of the least surprising pieces from this event.

But how will you do that if he has a cellphone?

I’m going to chime in as a parent and say that you just can’t let your kids have unregulated access to the internet. My eldest is 12 and he has never had a single second of being online without being monitored. I know that’s not possible for some kids, but I will say that fully regulated screen time is the norm for most families I know where the kids are ten years old and younger. I think this is going to be a bubble generation of online weirdos with the current crop being aged about 12 years old to mid/late 20’s. The emotional, social and physical toll that unregulated screen and internet access has on the developing mind is now understood and people are now starting to parent with that in mind. Unfortunately it’s too late for a huge generational cohort. I’ve long said that I would rather my kids smoke cigarettes than have an iPhone, and listening to this podcast makes me feel vindicated.
