On a wholly unrelated note that I wish I'd expressed a lot sooner: Black Lives Matter.
Covid-19 is still a thing, self-isolate when you can otherwise please wear a mask and wash your hands.
Anyway.
Here's some art I did for the two games I GM'd so far.
The first set of four were some photos and a "video" pause screen found on a seemingly derelict smuggling ship with the fourth being the face-to-face encounter image of the soul occupant (her foster-father had gone out and gotten himself arrested while searching for answers), so she'd ended up being Home Alone for several months before the UAP Crew encountered the vessel.... and yes I did have some Home Alone style traps for the crew to encounter. She was doing all right by herself until the ship was damaged by micro-meteor, and she weathered that well but had also recently injured herself.
Why hadn't he mentioned to the authorities that there was a child alone on his hidden smuggling-ship? Well aside from not wanting to get into more trouble he knew there was something strange about her and he didn't want her poked and prodded and treated like a freak; unaware she is actualyl quite normal if extremely gifted for an Aldevarii her age (on top of his general dislike for the UAP due to a tragedy involving his wife and unborn child some 20 years prior, which caused him to have a mental breakdown and also to quit being part of the UAP).
As mentioned, Lucky is Aldevarii like Pavel, and her foster father is Wy'Ranian (from the planet Wy'Ran, which has a friendly allyship with Aldevaran that goes back some centuries thanks to aid they rendered when Wy'Ran was being overrun by invaders).
Either way, Lucky was far from grateful but has otherwise been handed off to the proper authorities and has been taken to Aldevaran where she'll be taught to control her powers.

The next set of three images features the Caravatin, some very tall aliens I'm very proud of designing.
They have a gender ternary, which gets... complicated when it comes to breeding. But anyway. Male and Female Caravatin are called 'regents' by the universal translator, this isn't terribly accurate but it was the best it could come up with. The female caravatin's can administer a paralytic venom from their back spikes, while the males tend to exude "Let's get along!" pheromones (seasonally). 'Drones' benefit from an extra set of arms, and tend to be creative and adaptable.
Transgender Caravatin exist but most don't want to be a 'drones' because over the last century or so, despite being 'well cared for' and 'well educated' the vast majority of drones have been controlled by synthetic pheromones.
A minority of drones are resistant to the pheromones and they tend to live on the outskirts of society. Recently though, it has come to the attention of the social elite (well, their scientists) that some drones seem to be completely immune to the pheromones and... well lets just say rounding up drone children, both 'domestic' and 'wild' for experimentation purposes was starting to happen and let's just say the crew encountered some Refugees that desperately needed sanctuary/rescuing.
Pavel was not technically captain when I ran this game and I was absolutely not prepared for the Captain's decision to leave her on the Kahina. Still, the crew succeeded in getting them all to safety and the UAP's Admirals Board has been alerted to this social injustice and I'm sure they'll be working on getting equality up to a better standard on Caravitcas.
The Caravatin species is based on and co-created with permission by The-Many-Armed-Weaver-of-Tales, Teryl Pacieco, who posts a free micro-fiction every day on their Patreon and Mastodon account, and if they reach their first Goal of $69 per month, they will start uploading their back-log of tales from the deepest depths of their Mastodon account.
Give them a follow if you'd like a little short story in your day. They tend towards Urban Fantasy, Fantasy and Sci-Fi but sometimes Slice-of-Life and Horror pop up.
