In case anyone was wondering how the WIP I posted ended up looking.
I'm fairly happy with what I came up with (as long as I don't stare too long at the ones other folks have made, with their intricate patterns and pretty hair and delicate cheekbones asgfghsghgggh)!
I had intended to do a clothed and anatomically-accurate nude of this but changed my mind. I need to move on to other things that need to be done and the next time(s) I draw her she'll be clothed anyway.
I figure she's about 32, and is a spear-fisher/cliff-diver, wife and mother. All things considered I probably should've looked at puffins for colour/pattern inspiration - whoops!
If I'm feeling ambitious I might do a rough concept sketch of her sea/cliff-side village once things have settled down a bit more in my life. Maybe 2016 will be the year of more solid routines for me!
(Stardragons are a Closed Species of Adoptables, created by the folks named at the bottom of the image; it's kind of like DC comics creating unique Kryptonians for regular folk to purchase and use in their own projects (within reason and not for profit); occasionally they have Make-Your-Own events where you can purchase the right to design your own character (within guidelines) instead of waiting for a new batch of
pre-designed characters (which most people modify to a degree in any case). I stretched my signature over her legs because water-marks are part of the rules since design theft is an actual issue in the Adoptable scene, espc. for closed species'.)
