The Twin Projects, Part 2: Halo-Naruto Manga Adaptation

Hello! I am finally back from Texas, and as promised I am home to announce my second project in the works.

And here it is! Halo-Naruto. Now officially becoming a manga.

So for those of you unfamiliar with this story, Halo-Naruto is more or less my flagship fanfic on fanfiction.net, being one of my most popular if not the most popular story on there. It's a crossover set in the mid-war years of the Human-Covenant War for the 'Haloverse,' the 2540s by their calendar, and a little more than 20 years before the events of Naruto for the 'Narutoverse,' eventually expanding and continuing until the events of Naruto and his story are covered.

So initially, as visible in some of the concept artwork shown, we were going to cover only one part of the manga, the 'Battle of Qushan' Arc within the story, proceeded by a prologue chapter that sort of explained the setting of the story. This was going to be a bit of a test run to see how A) People liked it and B) just how viable this idea would be. It would have plenty of story and action, with a solid beginning and ending contained within this Arc. A perfect chapter to conduct a test run on doing a new manga, especially one such as this.

But as we continued working on the first chapter, it became apparent to me that this likely wouldn't be the best course of action as A) this was a crossover, so some people who might be familiar with one of the two fandoms may not be familiar with the other, and B) because this was a crossover and this Arc is a fair ways into the story, many people wouldn't fully understand what was going on even with a prologue chapter to help explain the setting. So, after much deliberation, it was agreed to start from the beginning of the manga and proceed from there.

Currently there are three people, including myself, working on the manga. There was a fourth individual, 'skrrt #8534' on discord who was also working on the project (a good chunk of the character concept art above is his work, actually.), but ending up having to leave the project due to personal reasons. (Nothing bad, he's just currently attending college, giving him little time to devote to a time-consuming project such as this.) Allow me to introduce them.

First, there's yours truly, myself, working as the author of the story and overall manager of the project. No more really needs to be said there.

Second is LorenzFirst #8569, on discord, who works on the storyboard and helps gives my interpretations and concepts an actual visual depiction to then turn into art. He's been doing fantastic with the storyboards and has made the process of bringing this manga to life much easier thanks to his illustrations.

Lastly, but definitely not least, is tomi_sa #5667, on discord, who serves as the artist of this story. Some of you have probably seen his commissions on my Deviantart page beforehand, which is good because he's been wonderful to work with on this project. Tomi was excited to work on the manga, which is his first, and is putting maximum effort into the artwork for the story. So I hope you all will enjoy his artwork as much as I have.

This first chapter we're currently working on will be 12 pages when finished. Currently, pages 7 and 8 are being worked on and we're looking to officially release the prologue chapter on August 15th (Might be a slight delay, but only a week at most.). Following this chapter's release and a one-two week haitus to do some project discussion and decisions with the team, I'm currently hoping to do a constant stream of 4-6 pages each month, released at the end of each month, with each chapter being 8-12 pages long in total. So hopefully this would result in a full chapter every 2 months. Each packet or episode, however you want to call it, will be released on Patreon first, with the chapters eventually being released on Deviantart at a later date. (Though not for a while, though, as I would like to get more patrons on here to help cover the cost of this project. Making a manga is surprisingly expensive, lol.) We may eventually go back and add color to the pages, but that's a discussion for a later date.

Thank you for your support so far, and I hope to wow you with this project and a vast assortment of others I'd love to do in the future, such as perhaps a graphic novel adaptation of my Doom-Dead Space story. (Which would be fucking incredible to do.) Looking forward to showing you our hard work on August 15th.
