Earth orbiting a K8 star

Now we're seeing a real difference; years here are about 72 days long so there's just not much time for summer.

Attempts to model Earth in orbit of a M5 star have so far been a bit crashy, but might just be a simple scripting error somewhere, I've put up a couple other things in the queue to run until I get around to looking at it.

Not exactly; even the coolest stars still emit most of their light at far shorter wavelengths than those emitted by an earthlike planet and then reflected by greenhouse gasses. But water and ice are substantially less reflective to redder light, so an earthlike planet should typically absorb more of a cooler star's light and so be warmer at equal levels of light as Earth; in these cases I've written the script to automatically adjust down the light to keep the average temperature roughly at 15 C to make more direct comparisons easier.

Nice. As I understand the emissions of cooler stars are significantly shifted towards infrared, does this interact in any way with the greenhouse effect?
