Added 2017-02-01 08:51:36 +0000 UTCWhat is up, internet? This post is gonna be short, because the whole team is frantically bugfixing, writing patches, discovering that we're missing background images, and in other ways hitting every single pothole before we release this motherfucker.

So, without further ado, let's talk about what's going on.
1. The alpha is ready.
Holy shit you guys, we made a game
2. Our code broke really unplayably hard but we fixed it because we are literally geniuses
So, three days ago we were sweating bullets because Game Maker was consistently glitching and turning every character invisible in every scene, but... that bug only held out long enough to make us all tremble and weep.
(It was like a 24 hour flu, but it took 72 hours. The misery was the same, though)
3. We're still launching on schedule
We're going to be taking the next two weeks to search for other bugs/textual fixes/places where the sprite should change facial expression but inexplicably does not. We assume that we've got some glitches like this, and we intend to selflessly throw ourselves in front of each and every one of those bullets. For you.
Anyway, we'll also have something set up so that you can report bugs to us once the backers-only alpha is out--probably a google sheet.

I was pumped for this game! Now I'm bummed. Sorry not complaining because I don't have a problem upping my payment to play the game, and it's what I plan on doing just bummed I can't lonely fap to it on V day! ;)

And the $20 tier says "early access to every update of the game", this isn't an update it's the launch. That poor wording choice is why I asked the question in the first place.
2017-02-07 13:25:47 +0000 UTCWell I can see why you're upset but the people who pledge $20 are doing it monthly. So that's $20 a month versus the $5 or $1. For example, if you pledge 20 for a year that's $240 versus $60. This in no way makes that contribution any less significant but you need better prizes for the people paying more for more or less the same period of time.

There is no search time nor fails when we test it, and we don't read the dialogs anymore. That's why I think we see it way shorter than it can be for someone who discover the game. In the future, we plan to make Joao rework our existing assets in order to harmonize the backgrounds (especially the world map which is the very first artwork we made... and it's not the best one. But guys it's my gf work so don't criticize it, I'm the only one who can do it ^^). Doodles

However, there are minor characters to populate the game, and some of them are future major characters you'll be able to romance in the future. But the alpha will still be quite short. We see it as an extensive proof of concept as we wanted you guys to have an overview as what we're aiming at, but also something enjoyable you can play with, and not just a draft where you have everything to imagine to understand where it's leading.
