Still kickin

Noticed yesterday it's been a month since my last video and a couple people asked if I'm still alive, so: Yeah. It's been a really tough year, for a variety of different reasons, nothing major, but life just won't quit happening to me lately.

Good news: Just shot a new video today, will probably have it out Monday. Also trying really hard to get myself to relax for once and do a simple video here at home; I swear, things like Little Guys will come back eventually, you will see me more often, I just have to get things to calm down a tiny bit for just a little while. Phew. Keep your stick on the ice

Hey CRD! Random question. I know you have been off of optical drives for a long time now. But I happen to have this special drive (at least I was led to believe it was) and I was wondering if you would have any interest in having it? It's a BenQ DW1640. Back in the high seas days apparently this was the flagship drive that had functionality no other drive had. I was never tech capable enough to verify this, back in those days I just wanted to rip my parents media collection so I could retain report with the highly legal sites I was always at risk of being labeled a moocher off of. But apparently this thing had a way of tricking normal optical readers into thinking the media was a different type??!!? Like yeah, this is totally a CD-ROM vs a CD-RW.. Idk how legit this was, and never got around to testing this, but just wanted to ask if you wanted it. It's sitting unused, and I'm a parent now so I definitely won't have the time for the foreseeable future, and if it is indeed special, id like it to go to someone who turely appreciates novel tech. Ofc this could be a bunch of malarkey since I never tested any of those claims, but it did take me a long time to find one on eBay back in the early 2000's to find one. They seemed to pull the drive from manufacture for some reason, and copyright infringement would certainly fit that bill in the 2000's Anyway, love your videos regardless of content and how your doing well. Regards, firstname lastname, involuntary IT guy.

Gravis, thanks for sharing your time and talents with this community. Another commenter said your catalog is super re-watchable, and I could not agree more! Plenty of videos to rewatch and catch up on in the meantime. Times are tough, but hey, you're tougher. Take whatever time ya need. I suspect many people (myself included) will be okay waiting a bit for another video while knowing you're taking that necessary time for you to process or decompress or whatever the heck else you need to do. πŸ™‚

Hey there, glad to know you’re doing okay and that you’re going to continue the channel. (I just live on the other side of WA from you, and I’d love to talk to you about some tech and stuff to maybe help out in the future.) - However I couldn’t find a way to initiate a chat, it seems you have to first. (Or I am missing something in this app as I’ve only just recently started using it?) Anyway, I hope you’ll maybe reach out. We have insanely similar and strange interests. Either way, I’m glad to be a patron for ya, I love the shows and the content!

The content is so good and thorough that the catalog is super re-watchable. I regularly go back and re-watch batches of episodes.
