Video: laserjet and globecaster tinkering

As soon as I got into the new warehouse I realized it could be good for ad hoc videos, so I decided to give that a shot. The result was a lot better than I expected and I hope you feel the same.
I do need to improve the lighting, get a better mic setup, a better monitor for my camera rig, and many other things, but it's a solid start.
got off a long day of work, signed into patreon - CRD talking about PRINTERS!!! YESSSSSS

You shold try cleaning the paper pickup roller/rollers with rubbing alcohol. The rubber gets stiff with age (just like in the belts in tape decks, etc.), the alchol helps cleaning and also soften it up. When i've was at the university, we fixed with this method a LaserJet4 and used it to print out everything we needed.

I agree with this. This has been great to watch. A lot more interesting than the basement. The background being “what is in storage” makes the watching experience engaging.

there are a few rollers. All different diameters on purpose. So by measuring the distance of repeated defects you can determine if it's the opc drum, the transfer roller, the upper or lower fuser roller.

the lj2 had a standby consumption of 95 watts. 24/7... it was rediculous when used in fax machines.

Seconding this. The slightly more casual format worked really well for the subject matter and the lighting & audio were fine to my eyes and ears.

the regular refill toner Was just 10 percent magnets and 90 percent dye. if you dev Box got spoiled (moisture from storage, extensive heat in summer, paper dust from cheap sheets), you needed to emty the dev Box and refill with fresh initial toner. if you dared to use regular one, during the first prints massive amounts of toner was spilled on the corona wires. (I trained techs to repair Fax machines build on the chassis of HP LJ1 like Safax M(word) 2 and Alcatel Laserfax.

I hated the laser jet 2. the developer box with need of initial toner (50 percent magnet particles) was a pain.

I enjoyed that. No complaints about audio, lighting or content. If it's relaxed and feels good, then the quality is just fine.

i like it, but I liked the basement bench videos as well. :D Anyway, it is a more versatile space so keep going if you're having fun

This was really good. You should definitely release it to a broader audience. Great the printer started working right on camera. The video editors issues sounds like something for Adrian's digital basement. It would be fun to see it working.
