Patron video: Steadicam setup & demo
Added 2022-11-16 07:27:49 +0000 UTCHello, new patrons! Since there's quite a few new subscribers after the last exclusive, it made me think that now would be a good time to try to get back to making more of the same.
I'm in the studio quite a bit, doing stuff - some of it's interesting, but I don't record most of it, and that's a bummer. I could record more of it, and it would probably be fun to watch, and hey, I'm already doing the stuff. It's free real estate.
For instance, in this video I take you through the process of setting up the Steadicam, then I demo it (at least, I demo my rudimentary skills on it) and even take it outdoors. I was already planning on messing with the Flyer today, and it didn't really take much longer to do it with commentary than it would have if I was alone. In fact, if it was just me, I probably wouldn't have bothered to take the rig outside at all, even though I'd been dying to do that since I got it.
As I've said many times before, having an audience motivates me to do stuff I otherwise wouldn't. Whenever my brain goes "well, you could do this thing, but why put in all that effort," if I respond with "because I'll get 30 minutes of footage out of it and people will appreciate that," then we all win, I think. So, while I'm certainly not planning on getting into any kind of schedule, I'll try to go with that impulse as often as I can.

Just a random thought. We need a short video that says "Try adjusting the slider. The frequency is... Wrong." I think it should go really tight on the face at the word wrong.
