Sad news (public)
Added 2022-07-02 07:09:06 +0000 UTCNot sure why I felt like I shouldn't post this earlier since I figure people would want to know. My cat, Gibbs, who was sort of a mascot to some viewers, is no longer with us. He got very sick, very rapidly, and we were told there was nothing we could really do other than euthanasia. I was extremely close to him and I am pretty devastated.
My usual approach to mourning is to work through it so this probably won't have that much effect on my output, but who knows. Maybe I'll disappear for a month, hard to say. Hope you all bear with me if so. Thank you for watching and supporting me, take care of yourselves and your creatures.

I’m so very sorry to hear about your loss! August 3 I lost my dog very suddenly. It was a week of illness with rapid downward turn. My heart goes out to you. We all process differently. I took a couple days off work to process & grieve then went to DEFCON and had a blast with all the distractions it afforded along with some Vegas fun. I hope you’re doing better and each day gets a little happier.

We recently had to put our oldest dog down and we still can’t process it. I know she will be there waiting for Gibbs, he won’t be alone. There's no speeding along the grief, but it does help to remember just how much safer, longer and happier we make their lives when we bring them in and take care of them. Gibbs was lucky to have you, and when you're ready, another cat that needs a home will be lucky to have you, too.
