Hey! It's been a long time since I did a show-and-tell of Stuff I Have. I just got a used GoPro and decided to try it out.
I happen to really like this video. I've wanted to do some less rehearsed stuff for a long time but the old studio, and the need to set up the camera and lighting and everything, made it more effort than it was worth. I really enjoyed making this, being able to move freely about the place, not being embarrassed by how it looks (hey, it's messy, but if you can't take a messy workshop then you have wild expectations) and just grabbing whatever I'm thinking of. It's very close to the experience you'd get just talking to me face to face, which is something I've wanted to emphasize better in my videos but wasn't sure how.
It IS shakycam, and I know some people are gonna have trouble with that; sorry, it's beyond the ability of software stabilization. This gopro is several years old and I had it stuck to my head, so that was inevitable, but if people like this format, I'll invest in one of the new ones that has obscenely powerful built in stabilization.
Speaking of "people", I'm probably going to release most of this publicly in a few days. The second to last part, where I talk about upcoming videos, will be patron only, but the rest of it I think I'd like to just publish. I want more of me just being me on my main channel, now that that doesn't imply "hey look at my unjustifiably messy home."
