BTS: Audio treatment

Hey, if these emails are irritating: I've contacted Patreon support to find out if it's possible to create an opt-in feature. I'm thinking if I make a second five-dollar tier, it should be possible for anyone who can currently see this to opt in or out of just the behind-the-scenes posts. I won't be surprised if they don't understand what I'm trying to do, so if anyone else has tried this before, let me know if it works.

Here's a sneak peek of A) the difficulties of the audio situation, but B) how manageable it's clearly going to be. Just the addition of these curtains, which I bought at Goodwill and literally stapled to the wall (temporarily - they're already down and I will get a curtain rod tomorrow) has made a difference, and another set will probably help even more.

Yeah, on the one hand I know the ideal here is to cover the entire space with various materials; the trouble is I just don't have the time, money or expertise for it in the near future. I'm sure I could hire someone to come out and just Do It Right, but I'm guessing it's gonna be mid four figures minimum, and I just don't have it right now, so I'm kinda looking for in-between options.

You need more thicker treatment for the mid range echos. Id say buy a few cases of Owens Corning 703, a roll of white cloth and some spray glue and go to town.

Cool! I'll look into that, I like foam more than wool etc. Kinda looks like I might have to order it through a contractor or something though.

In the office, we had very good results with Basotect foam that we put on the ceiling. The situation was similar, very tall ceiling, concrete floor and just a lot of plain walls. You couldn't make a conference call without people asking if you were in the bathroom because of the reverb.
