What Should I Explore Next in Elyden? Your Input Needed!
Added 2024-10-19 04:50:29 +0000 UTCAs Elyden continues to grow and evolve, I wanted to reach out and ask if there are any specific areas of this world you'd like to see explored or expanded upon. Whether it's a deeper dive into the lore and history of particular regions, new maps for cities or nations, or even more artwork and graphics for key characters, landscapes, or events—your feedback and ideas are incredibly valuable to me.
Maybe you're curious about the political intrigue of Korachan, the mysterious origins of mortal races, or the daily lives of the people of Almagest. Perhaps there's a particular culture, dynasty, or location that hasn't yet been fully fleshed out, and you'd like to see it brought to life through lore or art. Maybe you'd like to see more fiction. Or maybe you're interested in more worldbuilding tools—things like flags, city layouts, or even fantastical creatures that populate the wilds of Elyden. Whatever it may be, I'd love to hear your suggestions!
Feel free to comment below with your requests or send me a message directly if you have specific ideas in mind. I'm Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and crafting new stories, maps, and visuals that resonate with you all! Thank you, as always, for your incredible support!

what originally started as a novel developed into a worldbuilding project so there's no one specific story. however there are various themes and aspects of the world that I try to include in my writing, primarily that it is a dying world, that corruption is rampant, and that there are ancient buried gods who bitter thoughts seep into the dreams of the mortal peoples, though there are also less oppressive themes such as exploration and the discovery of ancient history. I go over the themes a bit more in the Elyden Primer - https://www.patreon.com/posts/elyden-primer-80929270 in terms of authors that directly influenced the worldbuilding and my writing include, in no particular order, Jack Vance, H.P. Lovecraft, Wayne Barlowe, and Robert E Howard,

2024-11-03 07:44:53 +0000 UTCI have two somewhat personal questions that I hope you would not mind sharing. What is the basic premise for the story? Who are the authors that most influence your work? I also want to say that Elyden is of the highest quality in terms of worldbuilding in all of fiction. You are doing great works here.

2024-11-03 03:20:48 +0000 UTCThe Twilight States should be in the next batch of maps that I do because I'm trying to finish off the continent of Llachatul. I'm currently writing a short story as part of NaNoWriMo, which I hope to finish! Once I do I'll share it here. With regards to books I don't think I'll be publishing anything physical at least until I'm finished with the atlas because I think it would be a disingenius to publish a physical edition of a book that I know is still being written.

2024-10-19 10:03:31 +0000 UTCyes! I had issues with the artist I was working with on that - I caught him plagiarising material in the art he used (in one case he literally copy/pasted part of an artwork from Beksinski and thought I wouldn't notice) also after that he said he didnt want to work with me any more. Unfotunately I have not been able to ffind another artist to continue the collaboration with whose work was of a similar style that I was happy with, that I could afford, so the project remained in limbo. I could always post up details of the remaining demiurges without art, but it would be a shame to do so without images to go with the text.
