the Atlas Elyden (Vol 1)

So, after years of making maps, flags and lore, and commissioning art, here is the first iteration of the Atlas Elyden. I’m very proud to be able to share this work that has taken up over 6 years of direct work making the maps, and almost 2 decades of worldbuilding.

It includes:

• 24 thematic maps and charts, including detailed maps on climates, languages, countries, religions, governments, trade routes, magic, pilgrimages, and much much more!
• Over 90 regional maps, including maps detailing the make-up of the three major political empires of the Inner Sea region, their dependencies and colonies, as well as many independent nations, kingdoms, microstates, and city-states!
• Over 150 individual nation entries, including pertinent information (area, population, government, ruler, industries, religions, etc.), their national flags, and detailed lore.
• 15 pieces of art showing landscapes, characters and cross-sections of buildings to further bring the world of Elyden to life!
• Almost 11,000 individually named indexed entries with grid indexes for ease of reference. As though that were not enough each index entry is hyperlinked to the page on which it appears. Use this with the Encyclopaedia Elyden to read about every named region, place and feature that appears in the Atlas!

This isn’t the end for the Atlas Elyden. There’s still about three-quarters of the world left to explore and who knows what undiscovered ruins and new cities await to be discovered in the regions that have already been mapped :)

I think future digital iterations of the Atlas will not be quite as unwieldy as this one. I’ll probably concentrate on particular geographical regions and then collect them all when I’m done. I might even go back and do the same with the maps in this volume. But that’s work for another time…
