We're heading to the W of Llachatul for the next map in the Atlas Elyden, detailing the so-called Parnasian States. Here are the fact boxes for Ayad, Elat, and Gyzha. This will be the focus of the High-res and Textless next Atlas maps to be published for next week, exclusively for Acolytes.
The Low-res version and encyclopaedia entries will be available to everyone the week after that. Thanks all for your support.

An Abbreviated History of the Parnasian States of Ayad, Elat and Gyzha
- c. 3000 - 3100 RM: Ezasuhi traders make contact with various isolated settlements in the south-west of Raong. Alliances are made and over the years the settlements grow close with Ezasuh. This will help with future colonisation efforts.
- c. 3100 RM: working to fulfil a prophecy in its religion, the people of Ezasuh begin planning a great migration west, across the Gates of Erebeth, to spread their people and religion.
- 3133 RM: 77 ships depart Ezasuh and move west across the Gates of Erebeth, landing in a sparsely populated peninsula in the far S - W of Raong. The city of Elat is founded, and fortifications are rapidly constructed to defend it as new settlements are founded over the coming years. Contact is made with native settlements with which Ezasuh already had close relations.
- 3133 RM: Ezasuhi missionaries meet with Raongi natives, leading to sporadic conflicts with some settlements. These escalate over the years as the Ezasuhi settlers push north and the decentralised Raongi government struggles to bring about a concentrated defence.
- 3135 RM: the first major battle between Raong and Ezasuhi settlers breaks out in the plains of Accarasia. The Raongi army, expecting little resistance, is pushed back, though skirmishes continue throughout the year.
- 3135 - 3139 RM: Ezasuhi engineers construct a wall in the south of the plains of Accarasia, behind which they construct further fortifications. Reinforcements from Ezasuh arrive, bolstering the defences around Elat
- 3136 - 3141 RM: war escalated between Raong and the newly founded Elat, though internal strife within the Raongi military leads to a botched defence. After a few years, battles dwindle, and Raongi forces are stationed near the few settlements of its south-west in defence against the expansion of Elat.
- 3141 RM: fearing a repeat of conflict that happened between Raong and the Korachani colony of Oduth years before, an accord is reached between Raong, Elat and Ezasuh - a portion of land will be bequeathed to Elat (lands west and south of the Parnasian Mountains). In return Ezasuh and Elat would enter into exclusive trade agreements, acting as a gateway to the Inner Sea, an act that would, over the coming years bring much trade and wealth into Raong, that would bring it into conflict with larger powers over the ensuing centuries.
- 3142 - 3145 RM: Following the establishment of the colony of Elat, Ezasuh sends resources west and new settlements and fortresses are founded. A permanent harbour is constructed in the city of Elat and a government is established there. Tentative relations are made with Oduth.
- 3186 RM: an embassy is established in Oduth and certain trade restrictions are lifted. Elat thrives as relations with neighbouring Oduthi cities grow.
- c. 3250 RM: over a century after its founding, the colony of Elat has 3 distinct cultural groups - native Raongi, Ezasuhi immigrants, and a far older indigenous group known as the Duathi. Representatives of each group are elected to the ruling council in Elat, speaking on their behalf. This leads to a tripartite government that would evolve into a constitutional elective monarchy, where three monarchs - one from each cultural group is elected from council members.
- 3307 RM: the constitutional elective monarchy is officially formed.
- 3381 RM: a delegation is sent to Oduth following the closure and expulsion of its diplomats the previous year following a change in regime in Oduth.
- 3382 - 3399 RM: war with Oduth following the execution of diplomats sent there. The war results in Raong also declaring war on Oduth, as part of its alliance with Elat, though it effectively remains neutral, providing medical support and equipment. The war ends with Elat advancing its territories farther east, and Oduth surrendering. The war with Oduth leads to Elat establishing a well-funded and advanced intelligence department, that compiles elaborate political and military information from foreign nations. It continues to do this today, and many authorities believe that its intelligence on other nations is unrivalled across Elyden.
- 3436 RM: the representative council is officially declared a Constitutional Elective Monarchy, with the first three monarchs elected this year. Each rules for a minimum of three years, and following this each year one of the three is re-elected to ensure a rotation of individuals every 3 years, and a change in at least one of the three monarchs every year.
- c. 3500 - c. 3600 RM: Elat’s reputation as being a meticulous collector of foreign intelligence grows and rumours spread that it makes a healthy profit selling information to the highest bidders in embassies and courts across the Sea of Orrida, the Inner Sea and beyond. Some whisper that it has become a puppet of the Korachani empire, something that many political observers believe, following increased trade deals with the political power.
- 3566 RM: Raong strengthens its southern border and severs ties with Elat following accusations of the latters’ political profiteering through the gathering and selling of state secrets. This causes chaos in regional politics. Raongi political secrets make their way to rival nations over subsequent months and years, leading to its weakening influence and power.
- c. 3660 - 3698 RM: Elat is said to be in a golden age, with unsurpassed wealth, political influence and trade relations across Elyden. Despite this, many foreign powers decry the purported causes of its sudden affluence, and relations across the Inner Sea suffer as governments and monarchies become suspicious of each other, with many becoming insular. Many embassies and consulates close out of fear of leaked intelligence. Borders are strengthened and militaries are mobilised. It is an uneasy time, and Elat thrives on it.
- 3698 - 3700 RM: Rumours of Korachani influence in Elat are now an open secret and its council has begun to fracture, with many opposing its increasingly amiable relationship with the tyrannical power, as relations across the Inner Sea crumble. Others within the council counter this, saying that this relationship has brought Elat into a new golden age of wealth, political, power, and trade.
- 3755 RM: the disappearance and assumed assassination of various council members who are outspoken about the intelligence brokering that has become Elat’s main industry causes many in government to question its methods and legacy in Elyden. Council members debate with the three Monarchs for 36 hours, though no resolution is found. Indeed, the meeting leaves the council fractured, leading to years of strife in Elat. A faction within the council comes to vehemently oppose its espionage and underhanded relations with other nations around the Sea of Orrida and the Inner Sea.
- 3755 - 3760 RM: a militant order arises in Elat openly opposing its role in brokering information across rival nations. Elatin spies and diplomats are killed across the Inner Sea and the capital in Elat is engulfed in chaos. Its armies are sundered overnight as different factions show their true colours.
- 3760 RM: civil war breaks out in Elat. Its spies and informants sow misinformation across the Sea of Orrida and the Inner Sea, as to who is attacking who. This forces various states and powers into showing their allegiances, declaring war on each other. By the time the truth emerges, it is too late and the damage has been done.
- 3760 - 3762 RM: Coastal fortresses in Elat are attacked by Korachani ships, leading to open war between the two nations. The war ends with the detonation of an Atramental bomb over the city of Urred, destroying important military and political objectives, after which a peace treaty is signed, with assurances that Elat will step down its espionage across Elyden.
- 3762 RM: the government in Elat collapses weeks after the signing of the Elatian Treaty. The Tripartite Monarchs are unable to keep the council in check. Its armies are broken and leaderless, and strife is rampant among all echelons of society. Later in the year the region of Gyzha, which was most heavily against the political actions of Elat broke away, declaring independence. As the ramshackle armies of Elat marched against Gyzha a few months later, one of the three elected monarchs followed suit, fleeing to her ancestral home of Elathri, claiming the North for her own. Elat was unable to fight both seceding entities and was forced to accept their actions. A Treaty was signed up on the last day of the year, declaring the Republic of Elat no more, replaced with the Parnasian States of Ayad, Elat, and Gyzha. Together, the peace treaty and independence treaty are known as the Elatian Treaty.
- 3762 - c. 3770 RM: despite political and economic depression following years of war and political unrest caused by the Republic of Elat, the Parnasian States find themselves alienated from foreign states and are forced to work together to rebuilt their strength and standing around the Sea of Orrida.
