Here's something a little bit different - I had started messing around with Sketchup a few years ago, but nothing ever came of it - i was too ambitious, as always, starting with a HUGE temple complex as my first project, and it was beyond my skills to execute. I gave it a go again recently and came up with this fortress, which is based on the many Maltese coastal fortresses we have dating back to the time of the Knights of St. John. I'm actually pretty happy with the result - both the design and the colour work. I learnt a lot about how sketchup works and how best to treat the workflow, so am looking forward to trying something like this again soon. Please let me know what you think about this one :)
I'm a big fan of building cross-sections and cutaways and might try my hand at something else soon. Let me know if you enjoyed seeing this as I'll certainly try make more in the future if that's the case :)
As always with more art-related posts, the High-res version will be made available to patrons at the Acolyte tier and higher for personal use. I'll also be including the enclosed version at the same tier.
