Make the Nation Part 10

EDIT: I'm reposting this, making it available to all tiers of patrons - so if you want to contribute to it, go ahead and let me know in the comments.

So, the votes are in on resources, and Cisneria’s main resources are cattle, lumber and umbra (in that order). There’s also an honourable mention for a unique moss-based drug trade, which should be restricted to a small region or city.

The Umbra mining operations can be assumed to be along the eastern  border, where it might clash with Essevera, which I had described here in a previous Make the Nation post. So there is some interesting scope for conflict. I imagine Cisneria would need a good military, and well guarded borders and industries to protect it from the attentions of the resource-hungry east...

Now onto something a bit different. No polls or multiple choice this time. Instead, I’m giving you a chance to name and design a city for Cisneria. Come up with a name for a city and/or region, with some light history and maybe an idea of its culture and resources. Just a sentence or two for each is enough.

Every reply below will be incorporated into the ap and history of the region. There are some caveats though, to keep the kingdom rooted in Elyden and to not make it too different,:

Get creating!

very nice :) the mountains are in the west. I'll certainly add this. I also added a map to the main post to make it easier to see what the place looks like.

Well here is my suggestion. Not sure if there is a mountain range in the east, but that can always be edited out for something more appropriate. Situated high in the Divumma mountains the city of Sudiva was once at the heart of thriving network of mines that fueled industry across Cisneria. Over time the production of Umbra dropped and now all that is left are crumbling refineries and the ghosts of past prosperity. Those that remain have a reputation in Cisneria for stubbornness and being unwilling to back down. A high proportion of whom now serve in the garrison forts along their border with Essevera, their wages sent home to their families now count as one of the largest sources of income in the region. "Hardy like a Sudivan” is a common saying in Cisneria, denoting something that is long lasting, but of no use anymore.

Uuuuh I have not much time to dedicate to this but a cool name could be Fierista, which derives from Latin "fiera" aka beast.
