Atlas Elyden #43 - Gnoth (east)

Here's the latest map on the Atlas Elyden, the People's Republic of Gnoth

You can find an updated key to the map here.

This is the low-res version available to everyone.  Become a Patron at the Acolyte tier for access to my back catalogue of High-res, PSD and textless maps.

This is available to use as per the CC licence on the image itself

You'll note that there is no PDF for Encyclopaedia entries as the Encyclopaedia Elyden is now available to all patrons to view - the post is stickied on my Patreon, and patrons at any tier (even as little as $1 month) have access to it. The PDF is a living document and will be updated monthly as I add content to it. You can find it here.

The only known giganri nation in Elyden, Gnoth is a place of great natural beauty. It is bordered by splendid mountains to the north and east and has harbours overlooking both the Sea of Serpents and the Sea of Marden. It is known to outsiders as an enigmatic place of aesthetics, monks and alchemists who practice an ancient form of anchemy known as Gnothi Mysticism that dates back to their people’s first footsteps behind their Demiurge father, Duruthilhotep with whom the giganri have a deep-rooted link: and as Duruthilhotep once grieved and languished over his place in the world, so do they feel the same today.

The Gnothi people are insular to outsiders and little is known about their land outside of its merchant ports, but it is known to date back to the Fourth Age, largely unchanged from its present form, though has diminished in size and power.

Despite this, it is believed that Gnoth possesses great military strength, which has been a deterrent to other nations invading it. It has resisted what few attempts have been made against it in the Fifth Age, though some think that there are other reasons behind its relative immunity from other nations’ attentions.
