____________________________________________________________
CONVEYOR: common term for commercial ambulants used across the territories of the Inner Sea. They are often large and capable of lifting large containers unaided.
TEMPLE OF ZAR NISHUBHAL, the: ancient Zioni temple, transported to the city of Khadon in Korachan, and rebuilt brick-by-brick, during the age of Korachani exploration and domination of the Inner Sea. It remains to this day, an anachronistic structure, now covered by glass, in in the high-district in Khadon.
ASKEFER: in the superstitions of the Korachani empire, ancient forest tree spirits native to the Old Forest. It is possible that the legend is derived from ancient dureweid sightings.
EXORCISOR GENERAL: head of the Office of Exorcism, based in the city of Elaarh in c Laaskha. Presently the Exorcisor General is the Atr. Nedmen Vostaim.
PATHMAKERS: mil. order in the Korachani empire tasked with patrolling regions of wilderness and wastelands close to trade-routes and other regions that see relative traffic, clearing paths for travel and making sure they are safe. They are known to use softsuits when working near regions of Atr. corruption and are competent at trackers.
ARCHIGRAPHER: title used in the Korachani empire to denote the head of gubernatorial clerical offices in major cities.
FALASHA: largest moon of the planet Cykranosh. Most Myt. across Elyden have it as a wandering spirit that fell in love with Cykranosh and became a satellite. It is visible through most common telescopes and is the first satellite observed by mortals, apart from Siella and Arakhemé, with Fifth Age records dating back to c 800 RM.
ATLAS OF THE OTHERWORLD, the: mystical tome penned by the outcast Fir. Othro of Habbar between 2731 - 2776 RM. It details the less mutable reaches of the Otherworld and its denizens, and for many years was considered the authoritative directory on the subject. Since then the validity of the scholar’s claims have come into dispute, with many contradicting his writings. The mutable nature of the Otherworld means it is possible that his writings were true at the time, though this is difficult to confirm or deny.
Regardless of any inconsistencies or fabrications, the volume is still prized amongst collectors and those studying the Otherworld for its commentaries on the nature of Fir. and the Otherworld and otherworlders. See Vol II: Books of Elyden.
OTHRO OF HABBAR: (B. 2694 - D. 2776 RM) Azazemi Fir. born in the city of Habbar. He began his training as an Atr. though after learning that he had an affinity for the Fir. abandoned his teachings and travelled east, settling in Khamid in c. 2729 RM. He wrote the Atlas of the Otherworld whilst in Khamid, compiling his findings on the nature of the Otherworld and its inhabitants.
STONE CHILDREN: in Meniscea a condition where the fetuses of pregnant women calcify in utero. In the majority of cases the fetus is killed before birth - in some instance remaining in the body, and in other being expelled. In rare instances the fetus is not killed and is born with an unchanging variant of Stone Man’s Disease. It is more common in ntns. closer to the Meniscus, and has its highest recorded occurrence outside of the Meniscus in the ntn. of Danu.
STONE BONES: see Stone Man’s Disease.
HANDMAIDENS OF THE SKY-LORD: rel. order in Ahrishen, comprised of virgins who devote their lives to the Sky-lord. They dress in blue and wear thin blue veils that cover their faces, on top of which are halo-like crowns. They tend to the shrines of the Sky-lors and offer him prayers on behalf of his other worshippers. See Vol IV: the Gods and Religions of Elyden.
LOVER AND THE TREE, the: fairy tale common in c Llachatul, particularly Azazem and Laaskha. It is likely a corruption of the passage from the Mythologia Elyden concerning the Demiurges Achaiah and Ashterath. See Vol II: Legends and Folk Tales from around Elyden.
HEART OF KHAR’ILLAE, the: in many legends and myt. Across Elyden, the mummified heart of the Scion Khar’illae, kept as a reliquary following her death in the second Age. The Heart was kept as a relic and passed on from culture-to-culture. It was lost for much of the Fourth Age, though was recovered during the Shadow War, and remained in N Sammaea, changing hands between groups. Today it is held under lock-and-key by the Reformed Church of Sarastro in Mharokk.
Following Khar’illae’s rebirth as an Otherworlder in the years leading up to the Great War, she made moves towards recovering the Heart, though to what end remains unknown?
MAZARINE SEA, the: deep sea between the ntn. Of Khull and the isl. of Reddin. It is steep-sided and abyssal, and few ships venture far from the shores, particularly in bad weather.
