Happy Anniversary!

I just realised I’ve been on Patreon for little over a year now and thought I’d post something about it.

First of all a very heartfelt thanks to all my patrons, especially those who’ve been here since the beginning. Every new patron gives me a little bit more courage and hope that I might actually be able to devote more of my adult life to this. My dream would be to ditch the day job (or at least reduce the hours wasted there) to spend more time on my world. Though dreams only come true to those who work for them and I realise now, more than ever before, that I need to double my efforts.

I know that when compared to a lot of other creators on Patreon I’m making a meagre amount, though I really am grateful to every patron who's supported me.

Also thank you to everyone who shares my posts on social media, spreading the word. I mostly see this on G+ though I’ve been shared around everywhere from facebook to twitter (sounds weird).

So, what’s happened in a year? Well, the Atlas Elyden went from just an idea to something tangible and fully-formed, though it’s still a long way from completion. I hope to complete at least a few more maps by the end of the year, with an eye towards completing the Inner Sea region in the first half of next year. Once that’s done I’ll start work on the Inner Sea atlas-style poster map - an A1 monster dripping with labels and information regarding the region. That’s really something I’ve been itching to see finished.

I’ve acquired the polystyrene ball needed to start work on the globe map, so I will have to complete the digital maps, in preparation for the dreaded goring process. This is something new and exciting for me and something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. Fingers crossed the experiment works out!

I also want to finish off the draft for my novel Twilight of the Gods and get it out on Createspace and Lulu. It needs quite a bit of restructuring and rewrites to get done, so it’s quite a big job. I might use NaNoWriMo to give me the push I need to start work on that.

I will be posting the next chapter in the Path Travelled story over the coming days/weeks and hope to continue the story at a more regular pace after a bit of a pause. If anyone is following the story, please let me know as it’s nice to see that someone is actually reading it!

I also want to try write more short stories,. I managed to get a few written (the start of the Idol of Baphomet series), which I was pleased with, though the work on the atlas maps meant I wasn't able to get as many done as I had wanted to.

If I manage to get half these things done by this time next year I’ll be pleased! Thanks for a productive first year, and here’s looking to the next!

Yes, congratulations Nate! It's been exciting seeing Elyden grow and develop in incredible detail. I lack all the skills to take on such a task, so it's a pleasure to help you along to realizing a fully developed and fleshed-out world ripe for possibilities.

Congratulations Nate on your first year. I only came across you this past week and I must say I'm super impressed with your work so far. The level of detail in your world is impressive. I've just become a patron and look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!
