Zelda: Breaking Urbosa

Chapter 1: Betrayal in the Throne Room

The grand hall of Hyrule Castle carried a solemn air. Tall windows let streams of golden light spill across polished marble floors, and Zelda sat pensively on her throne. Her fingers grazed the armrest, her thoughts occupied by the growing tension in her kingdom. Whispers of dissent had reached her ears—rumours of rebellion led by those closest to her.

She stared out into the vast hall, her thoughts disrupted by an unnatural ripple in the air before her. A distortion, shimmering with golden light, twisted reality. Zelda instinctively stood, gripping the hilt of the small ceremonial dagger at her hip.

From the ripple stepped a figure—a woman who bore Zelda’s own face but carried herself with a confidence that bordered on arrogance. The stranger’s blue eyes gleamed with mischief, and her golden hair fell in waves far more carefully styled than Zelda’s modest braid. Her attire was similar, yet more revealing.

Zelda’s voice was sharp. "Who are you?"

The other woman smirked, her painted lips curving into a sly smile. "I am you, but better," she said, her voice dripping with honeyed malice. "Call me your reflection, if you will. I’ve come from another world to correct the failings of this one."

Zelda’s brow furrowed. "What failings?"

The reflection laughed softly, her voice like the chime of a silver bell. "Your weakness. Your misplaced trust. Do you not see the seeds of betrayal growing around you? Your dear Link and Urbosa—they conspire against you even now."

Zelda’s eyes narrowed, though her heart faltered. Link, her loyal champion? Urbosa, her steadfast ally? The accusation stung, but the doubt it planted stung even more. "You lie," Zelda said, though her voice lacked conviction.

The reflection stepped closer, the faintest click of her heeled boots echoing in the silence. "Oh, my dear, naive counterpart," she said, shaking her head mockingly. "Have I not lived the same story? I too believed in them once. Until I realised their ambition would always overshadow their loyalty."

Zelda tightened her grip on the dagger. "What do you propose, then?"

The reflection’s smile widened. "A solution. One that ensures their betrayal will never come to pass. But it will require you to embrace a power you’ve long ignored. The power of dominance. The power of control. The power of your feet."

That evening, the two Zeldas sat together in the dimly lit council chamber, their heads bowed in quiet conversation. The reflection laid out her plan, her voice soft but laced with wicked intent.

"We invite them here," the reflection said, tracing a finger across the map of Hyrule spread out before them. "Offer them a show of trust. And when they least expect it..." She tapped the map sharply.

Zelda hesitated. "And what then? You’ve yet to explain what this power of yours entails."

The reflection leaned back, crossing one leg over the other. She slipped off her boot, revealing a slender, perfectly shaped foot with a high arch and delicate toes. The pale skin glistened faintly, a sheen of sweat catching the flickering candlelight.

"You underestimate the influence of something as simple as this," the reflection said, wiggling her toes with a smirk.

Zelda blinked, her confusion apparent. "Your... foot?"

"Not just a foot," the reflection corrected. "A symbol of superiority. Of power. Imagine the mighty Urbosa, the legendary Link, grovelling beneath these very toes. Reduced to nothing more than worshippers of your scent, your touch. Their betrayal wiped away, replaced with unwavering devotion."

Zelda’s cheeks flushed at the thought, but she quickly looked away. "And how do you suggest we... achieve that?"

The reflection chuckled. "Leave that to me. Just ensure they arrive at the castle tomorrow. I’ll take care of the rest."

*************************

The next day, Link and Urbosa arrived as summoned, their steps echoing through the castle halls. Link carried an air of confidence, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. Urbosa followed closely, her sharp eyes scanning the surroundings with suspicion.

"Zelda," Urbosa said as they entered the council chamber, "what’s this about?"

Zelda stood at the far end of the room, her face carefully composed. The reflection stood beside her, her presence cloaked in an illusion that made her indistinguishable from Zelda herself.

"It’s good to see you both," Zelda said, forcing a smile. "I’ve summoned you here to discuss a matter of great importance."

Before either Link or Urbosa could respond, the reflection raised her hand, and the sigils etched into the floor lit up with golden light. Chains of magic shot forth, wrapping around their wrists and ankles, binding them in place.

"What’s happening?!" Link shouted, struggling against the binds.

"Silence," the reflection said sharply, dropping her illusion. The sight of the second Zelda left Link and Urbosa momentarily stunned.

"Zelda," Urbosa hissed, her voice laced with betrayal. "What is this treachery?"

Zelda hesitated, doubt flickering in her eyes, but the reflection placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"Do not falter," the reflection whispered. "They would not hesitate to do the same to you."

Drawing a small vial of shimmering liquid from her cloak, the reflection stepped forward. "You’ve lived as equals for too long," she said, her voice dripping with disdain. "It’s time they learned their place."

She poured the liquid onto the ground, and the glow intensified. A strange energy enveloped Link and Urbosa, and before their eyes, their bodies began to shrink.

Link’s form dwindled, his cries of protest growing fainter. Urbosa’s once-imposing figure shrank to the size of a doll, her muscles no longer a match for the chains that bound her.

When the light faded, the two Zeldas stood over their tiny prisoners, their towering forms casting long shadows.

*************************

The reflection crouched down, her smirk widening as she picked up the tiny figures of Link and Urbosa, holding them in her palm like insects.

"Look at you now," she said mockingly, her breath washing over them. "So small. So insignificant. This is what rebellion earns."

Zelda knelt beside her, staring at the tiny figures with a mix of fascination and trepidation. The reflection nudged her gently. "Go on," she said. "Show them what it means to defy you."

Hesitantly, Zelda removed her boots. The scent hit her immediately—a sharp, tangy odour that had built up over the day. She glanced at her reflection, who encouraged her with a nod.

The reflection set Link down on the ground, placing her own bare foot over him. The tiny hero squirmed beneath her sole, his muffled cries barely audible.

"Smell it," the reflection commanded, pressing down slightly. "Breathe it in. This is your life now."

Zelda followed suit, lowering her foot over Urbosa. The proud warrior recoiled, gagging as the overwhelming stench enveloped her.

"You will learn to love this," Zelda said, her voice gaining confidence. "You will learn to worship this."
